Strategy
Reads what is known about this client and their market, then works out what is worth arguing, how to argue it, and writes the copy. Takes a few minutes.
Insights
what is worth arguing, and why only we canA pantry machine's lifespan is decided by its connectivity, not its casing: LULI's units are built to receive new capsules over Wi-Fi, so the machine in the office corner keeps growing a menu instead of going stale in month four.
killedmechanismdraftOnly we can say it: The competitor set ships fixed-firmware hardware — a Morning or a coffee-capsule brand cannot claim their installed machine gains new capsule capability, because there is no connection in it to gain anything through. To run this line they would need to redesign hardware, not rewrite copy. It also depends on LULI's own sequence: B2B-first, a pre-order ahead of September, and pantry trials already running, which means the update path can be described in the language of an installed base rather than a spec sheet.
Critic: The ownability argument overstates the competitive gap — 'connected appliance keeps getting better over time' is a category-wide claim in smart kitchen hardware, not something unique to LULI's build. Any manufacturer that ships Wi-Fi-enabled hardware with an update channel can run this line unchanged; the claim that rivals have 'no connection in it to gain anything through' is an assumption about the whole competitor set, not a checked fact. It's also a stage-mismatch: 'this device stays fresh via updates' is now a fairly mature, heard mechanism in consumer electronics, not a novel one that would land as news. Could be run unchanged by: Any smart-appliance brand shipping app/Wi-Fi connected hardware with firmware or content updates (e.g., a connected coffee machine like Nespresso Vertuo Next or a smart kettle brand).
8 constraints on how this may be written
- — Do not claim or imply the machine looks better than, or matches the finish of, the Morning coffee brand — the exterior redesign is not achievable for six to twelve months and the client already fears this comparison
- — Do not present the Wi-Fi capsule-update function as shipped and live until confirmed; it is being added, so it must be framed as how the machine is built and what it is designed to receive, never as a feature a buyer can use today
- — Do not name, list or picture specific future capsules or flavours — the capsules are not yet finalised
- — Do not reference the contracted app as an existing product
- — Do not do a full product showcase or hard-sell; narrative leads with the technology and the behind-the-scenes build, and the founder speaks publicly about this as a health tech company and a technology, not as a product brand
- — No AI-generated or mockup imagery in website assets — real photography only
- — Do not build present-tense personal pain around a consumer buying for a home; the route to consumers runs through B2B, so the pain should sit with the pantry or office decision-maker
- — Do not attach health outcome claims to the extraction rate figure — it is a technical talking point, not substantiated benefit
